Day Six

I have been in Quebec City for six days now. It is great so far. I am living out of the hotel still, but I found an apartment this morning. It is about 20 minutes to work on foot, and about 5 by car. Those are google maps estimates, and it seem even closer than that to me.

The weather is cold, but it's really not so bad. Right now the thermometer says -3 (that's been the high since I've been here, the low, so far, has been -12), but once you get used to the idea that it's going to be really cold for a long time, you just deal with it, bundle up, and go on with things.

I found my apartment this morning. For the sake of mind blowing, I'll give the vital stats of my LA apartment first: 400 square foot studio for $1100, the building was about 35 years old. Quebec apartment: 1200 square foot 2 bedroom for $850. The building is brand new; in fact, it's not quite finished yet, but will be done next week.

I will get around to taking some pictures around here soon. It hasn't snowed very much, but there is snow on the ground everywhere.

Zoe is coming to visit this weekend! I think even if I limit having poutine with only people who visit (and I'm sure I won't be able to limit it to that) I'll get fat.
